Kenya’s wildly popular Kikuyu folk music (mugithi) crooner entertained hundreds of Kenyans in Lowell near Boston last night, leaving them yearning for more when time ran out. As fans mobbed superstar for selfies at the end of the show, Samidoh quickly revealed to Ajabu Media that he was rooting for the Kansas City chiefs to beat San Francisco 49ners to lift the trophy in the much-awaited Superbowl tonight in Las Vegas.

Cambodian owners and bartenders at the lounge were literally overwhelmed by the demand for drinks from excited fans crowding the cash bar, with others placing more orders from their reserved booths and tables strategically located in the dance room for premium, VIP seating.

“We are trying our best to keep up, but it's hard. “We are appealing for clients to be patient with us”, one of the four bartenders manning the cash bar told Ajabu Media. One fan was spotted getting behind the counters to help waiters serve him and save himself from the extremely long wait times it took to get served.

“It’s very frustrating how long it is taking to get a drink here, almost 30minutes! They should have brought in more cashiers for the job. Kenyans want their drinks and want them fast,” a Kenyan lady told Ajabu Africa News.

Samidoh proceeded to entertain Kenyans with his own self-composed popular Kikuyu hits as well more from other popular Kenyan musicians. However, as he switched to popular gospel hits towards the end of the shows, all fans rushed from the cash bar and booth seatings to the dance floor, clearly moved spiritually with the praise and worship songs. The superstar thanked Kenyans in Boston for coming out in large numbers to have a good time with him. He said he was looking to come back soon. “Thank you so much watu wa US (People of USA). I will come back soon”, he said as fans mobbed him for selfies.

I am very happy Kenyans did not disappoint us tonight. They came out in large numbers and were very engaged with Samidoh’s music”, said James Muturi Jaymoh , a Kenya entrepreneur who organized the show together with Mamakeboys promotions.

“That Mugithi was really good. Ilishika sana 100%!,” exclaimed a fan as he left for home during an interview with Ajabu Africa News.

Samido was in Boston to attend family matters since his wife and kids relocated to Lowell recently. However, he agreed to throw in one mugithi show for Kenyans in the area before he travels back to the motherland for work. He revealed that he would be attending a super bowl party tonight at an undisclosed venue, hoping the Chief’s will prevail over the equally good 49ners team.
