BOSTON---Bishop Joseph Kalema, founder of the Danbury, Connecticut based Joseph Kalema Ministries Inc., and an associate teacher with Morris Cerrulo World Evangelism, in conjunction with a New York based bishop and many Boston area pastors are set to lead in a massive revival conference to be held from May 21-24 at the Woburn Boston Hilton Hotel in Woburn.

The convention will bring together other major US and Africa based clergymen including Pastor Nicholas Wafula, a renowned East African evangelist who  co-founded the Deliverance church of Uganda  in the late 60s before he was  forced to lead the church from the underground 10 years later to escape Christian persecution by former Uganda dictator, Idi Amin, Dr. Archbishop Joseph A. Alexander, founder of the New Covenant Christian Worldwide Ministries (NCCM) based in the Bronx, NY, Dr. Larry Hrovat of Faith of The Nations Ministries, and Pastor Laban  Jjumba of Deliverance Church Uganda and Director of Intercessors for Uganda/Africa among many others.

Themed “Acquire the Fire, Lift Jesus Higher”, the highly anticipated convention has been put together by Bishop Joseph & Rev. Catherine Kalema of the Joseph Kalema Ministries in partnership with the New Covenant Christian Ministries Worldwide, multiple pastors from the community churches in New England as well as individual well wishers.

The free entry convention is expected to draw hundreds of worshippers from the New England region as well as others from far flung states eager for a dose of good news following depressing world reports of escalating wars in multiple parts of the world especially against Christian believers.

Also lined up to lead in  expected powerful praise and worship sessions are  Michael and Brenda Soldan, popular praise and worship leaders  from the House of Grace Ministries in Danbury, CT as well as praise & worship teams from participating community churches.

Speaking to church pastors who attended the first of the two scheduled event planning meetings at the Woburn Hilton Hotel, Bishop Kalema said that things have not been going well in the body of Christ in the region and the World at large.

He said that there are multiple challenges in the “Body of Christ” organized through community churches and such challenges can only be addressed when people return to God.

“God has put a burden in me to hold this conference that will help to solve some of the issues we are facing as a church,” said the bishop, who also oversees the Dominion Life Church and School of Ministry in Bethel of Greater Danbury, Connecticut.

Accompanied by his wife, Rev. Catherine Kalema, the bishop urged all Christians from all walks of life to attend the event.

“We are blessed to have very powerful men and women of God dedicate their precious time to come and bless during this convention. This will be a historic moment in New England and we expect many miracles to take place.”

“People will be restored, revived, gifts within them stirred up as they acquire the fire of Jesus Christ and lift Jesus higher,” he added.

He urged believers who plan to attend the convention to sign up for free using an online sign up form to make the planning easy and convenient to all involved.  (To sign up, click here >>>)

During the  first planning meeting where an impromptu fundraiser to finance the convention took place, over 30 church leaders showed up, expressing solidarity with Bishop Kalema to make the event a reality.

“It is the mandate of every pastor, leader and believer is to keep the hope of a good life alive as they stay focused to God’s promises and not allow ourselves to be swallowed by the influence of the evil spirits whose goal is to weaken us so that we may not lead ourselves and our people to victory in keeping God’s True Word,” added the bishop quoting from the book of NUMBERS: 30:1-2.

Several pastors present at the meeting voiced their total support to make the unique convention a big success that it should be.

“We will support you in whatever means possible to make this event take place,” said Rev. Jared Mlongecha, pastor of the International Gospel Church, an east African community church based in Chelsea, MA.

“This is a good vision you have and we will do our part to support it because this is doing the Lords work,” said Rev. John Baker Katende, pastor of the Community Global Evangelical church in Burlington.

Venerable Peter Gachathi of St. Paul’s Community in Lawrence and Chairperson of Kenyan American Pastors’ Fellowship challenged those present to act on their promises to make support the event is as “it was a noble cause for the Kingdom of God”.

Organizers invited other willing individuals and pastors of African community churches and other Communities in Boston who would like to join the effort to make the convention a success to contact them, or attend the second planning meeting to be held this Saturday (February 28) because “this is not the work of a man but the of the Holy Ghost for God’s Kingdom”.

The meeting was attended by many other pastors from different community churches and denominations in the New England area.

The meeting is scheduled to at 10.am at the Woburn Hilton Hotel located at 2 Forbes Drive, Woburn starting at 10am.
