SALISBURY BEACH, Mass.,__Seemingly hard wired for reggae music with knack to catching the biggest Jamaican reggae artists in town for summer shows, several hundred Kenyans thronged the Tarrus Riley show last week at the Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts, a stone throw away from the popular Hampton beach in New Hampshire. The show took place on Thursday June 22nd, with close to 300 fans attending, majority of whom were clearly Swahili speaking Kenyans of a varying ages. Buoyed by the enthusiastic cloud, Riley, who was born in the Bronx, New York to reggae legend Jimmy Riley and raised Jamaica by his father, spewed hit after hit of his mostly love reggae songs. Occasionally, the Riley would go mute for several minutes after introducing a hit song leaving the fans sing along happily. Watch Ajabu Photos below: | |||||||||
