Billy Chemirmir is one rotten apple among a beautiful bunch!

BOSTON__As news of Billy Chemirmir's litany of charges including several murders and attempted murders continue to rattle the local communities and the nation, I find it imperative to note that Billy is not a representative of every home healthcare worker. Mr. Chemirmir's alleged actions put a damper on the hard work performed by many Kenyans and other nurses from all over the world in the service of the America's most vulnerable adults and should be condemned with the strongest terms.

Furthermore, once tried and convicted he deserves the most severe punishment allowed by law.

As attested by the charge sheet Most if not all of Chemirmir's victims are elderly women, he also appears to have had an appetite for their jewellery boxes and other valuables. He is said to have given some to his wife and treasure others in his house. When law enforcement finally tailed him and arrested him, a search warrant was issued and in his ransacked house the police confiscated a huge cache of valuables suspected to have been stolen from his deceased victims and other homes he had worked.

What is further heart breaking is the fact that Billy used his credentials as a trusted caregiver to inflict pain and suffering to his vulnerable victims and their families. It is natural that his arrest and subsequent arraignment on these most shocking and despicable allegations coupled with the ensuing media publicity puts Kenyans and other immigrants , most of whom are in the healthcare industry in an uneasy situation.

Billy's crimes are inhumane to say the least and indefensible. He was his own person, he is not a representative of the many men and women in his same position as healthcare providers who protect and defend their vulnerable patients every day. I am confident the Texas judicial system will provide justice for his victims and their families. Once convicted he should not see the light of day again!
