Kenya doesn't belong to a few. Today we're witnessing history. Freedom is coming! DP William Ruto has said.

"The people of Kenya will prevail and we will have a nation that will not leave anyone behind," he said.

He was speaking in Nyayo stadium as he made his final submissions to Kenyans on Saturday.

Ruto said Kenyans should not be afraid adding that there is a God in heaven.

"The will of God will prevail, the deep state will not stop us. This will be the culmination that Kenyans are supreme. On Tuesday they will witness the power of God," he said.

He committed to bring down the cost of living saying they have a plan.

"Today we are witnessing history. They said we will not be here in 2022 but here we are," he said.

"They said we will not be in the ballot but we are in the ballot. I want to tell the people of Kenya that we will overcome. Enough is enough and freedom is coming."

Earlier, Ruto said life has never been bad in our country as it is today.

"Kenyans have received a terrible beating as we cannot afford to put food on the table," he said.

Ruto said they have reached a point where small businesses have closed shop because cost of living has become terrible.

"For the farmer you are walking on productive land that is not cultivated. It is no longer and no wonder we have an Ugali sosa crisis," he said.

"We are all victims of economic system gone rogue on us. But do not worry. It is time to have the courage to say no to anything that threatens our civility."

In a packed 30,000-seat Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, Kenyan presidential hopeful, William Ruto, has been rallying his supporters.

The rags-to-riches businessman used to be seen as the establishment candidate but after losing the support of Uhuru Kenyatta he is now fighting back.

Speaking to the crowds he said: "The people of Kenya will prevail over the deep state, the people of Kenya will prevail over the system and we are going to have a nation that leaves no Kenyan behind.

"It is about the empowerment of Mama Boga [ladies selling fruits and vegetables], the empowerment of the boda boda gentlemen [drivers of motorcycles], the empowerment of the hustlers, the empowerment of the ordinary citizens, it is not about sharing power."

Ruto was once expected to be President Uhuru Kenyatta's successor, but Kenyatta aligned himself with longtime rival Raila Odinga in 2018 and since then Ruto has lost ground.

"They said this was a constitutional moment, we told them no, this is an economic moment," he said.

"They told us it is about changing the constitution, we told them no, it is about changing the economy. They told us it is about sharing positions, we told them no, it is about creating jobs for the young people of our nation."

Ruto, has based much of his campaign on the idea of taking apart the old political order, led by Kenyatta and Odinga, and offering a helping hand to small businesses and poorer Kenyans. It is this section of the population where the bulk of his support comes from.

Nancy Njeri is a businesswoman and Auto supporter.

"He will create good business for the low level business people like women who sell groceries, hawkers who are always being harassed by the city council officers, he will serve us and fix the economy and that’s why we love him," she explains.

Artist Amos Kip, is also backing Ruto.

"I chose to support Ruto because I am sure when he is elected on the 9th of August to be the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya, he will identify and fix the problems,|" he says.

On Tuesday, as well as voting for the president, people will choose members of the National Assembly and Senate, county governors and members of the county assemblies.
