| A Kenyan man is wanted in the US after he allegedly killed his girlfriend and fled to Kenya. The body of Margaret Mbitu alias Maggie, also from Kenya was found in a car at a Logan Airport garage in Massachusetts. Reports indicate that the Massachusetts State Police together with the Kenyan authorities have launched a manhunt for the man believed to have killed Maggie. Ms Mbitu had been reported missing before her body was discovered at the Airport garage. The 40-year-old suspect is believed to have boarded a flight to Kenya from Boston. The victim was allegedly stabbed by the boyfriend who is now a wanted man after an arrest warrant was issued against him. Ms Mbitu was last seen leaving her job in Halifax on Monday night, the same day she was reported missing. “Maggie was last seen at 11 pm on Monday, October 30 in Halifax leaving work. She was wearing black pants with a grey shirt and a black cardigan. Her straight black hair was in a ponytail and she was driving a white Toyota Venza,” read the Missing person’s poster shared by Ms Mbitu’s friends on Facebook. Her car was later found parked inside the Central Parking garage at the airport on Wednesday. Detectives are piecing together a timeline of her last moments using video surveillance as they continue to track down the main suspect in her murder. According to Mbitu’s family, their daughter was trying to end her alleged relationship with the 40-year-old man who is believed to have killed her. “The entire family, everybody is down, I’m not myself right now…This is heartbreaking,” Mbitu's mother told Boston 25 News. The mother added that police searched Mbitu’s room looking for clues. The late Mbitu worked at BAMSI based in Brockton and the organization has mourned her with a message that says; "She was warm, caring, and loved by everyone she worked with, both staff and the people she cared for in our group homes," BAMSI said. "As an agency, we are in mourning over the loss of such an amazing young woman." The late Mbitu’s friend said; "It's just very, very, unfortunate that somebody would choose to do what they have done," "It's such a great loss to the parents, to her relatives, and to the community at large and I would say to the nation." Authorities are working to track down a Lowell man who they believe killed a woman whose body was found in a Logan Airport parking garage Wednesday night, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Officials have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 40-year-old Kevin Kangethe for the killing of 31-year-old Whitman resident Margaret Mbitu, the DA’s office said in a press release Thursday. Police had been searching for Mbitu since Monday when her family reported her missing. Around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Massachusetts State Police troopers found Mbitu’s body inside a vehicle in Logan Airport’s Central Parking garage. “Evidence indicates that she was the victim of a homicide,” the DA’s office wrote. Investigators soon identified Kangethe as a suspect in Mbitu’s killing, but determined that he had boarded a flight to Kenya, the DA’s office said. They are working with police in Kenya to find him. Authorities believe Kangethe and Mbitu knew each other, and that the killing was not random. The DA’s office did not say how Mbitu died, what charges Kangethe is facing, what Mbitu’s relationship to Kangethe was, or when Kangethe is believed to have flown to Kenya. “There is no threat to the public or to Logan Airport travelers. No further information is being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation,” the DA’s office wrote. Mbitu worked at BAMSI, a Brockton-based charity organization, according to a Facebook post from the non-profit. The post said she was last seen Monday at 11 p.m. leaving her workplace in Halifax in her SUV. “The BAMSI community is heartbroken by the tragic death of Maggie. She was warm, caring and loved by everyone she worked with, both staff and the people she cared for in our group homes,” a BAMSI spokesperson told the Boston Herald Thursday. “As an agency, we are in mourning over the loss of such an amazing young woman.” Mbitu worked for BAMSI as a nurse at their group homes for more than seven years, the Herald reported. “The entire family, everybody’s down,” Mbitu’s mother told Boston 25 News. “I’m not myself right now.
